Welcome to the Winter 2007 edition of Members Matter.

Fraser Rogers

We have chosen to use this edition to explain about the Board of Directors and their work. These are the people who get to hear your views and suggestions through your contact with the Board of Governors and we hope that explaining their wide range of responsibilities will in turn give you an idea of the vast amount of work going on at the Trust with in many different areas.

Elections are on the horizon once again. I would really encourage you to find out about becoming a governor by coming along to a Governor Awareness Seminar (see separate article for details). Please also remember to use your vote – it is vital that as many members as possible participate in the election so that these elected have a good mandate.

Work is underway to form a Children’s and Young People’s Board for Addenbrooke’s, so that this age group’s views can be taken in to account when we plan services which affect them. We’ll keep you updated on this exciting development in future newsletters.

Look out for the governors coming to a venue near you in the New Year so that they can hear your views and suggestions on any issues which matter to you.

With all good wishes for Christmas and the New Year

Best wishes

Fraser Rogers
