Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) is the registered charity for Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Thank you to everyone who has so generously given their time and financial support. Your donations have helped buy additional high-tech medical equipment, pay for additional staff, contribute to environmental enhancements, and fund research to improve the understanding of medical conditions. Trekking the Paine Massif ![]() Cheryl Sayers, a tireless fundraiser for the Oncology Centre, was at it again in November, taking on the Patagonia Hike to raise nearly £2,000 for TomoTherapy research. The new TomoTherapy machine at Addenbrooke’s is the first to be installed in an NHS hospital. It is able to focus radiotherapy on a tumour without damaging surrounding healthy tissue. ACT is supporting Department of Health research to evaluate this new technology, which is likely to influence practice and benefit cancer patients.
