Patient information library

Patient Information leaflet

If you’re a patient at Addenbrooke’s, or you want to find out more about a relative’s treatment, then you should know about the hospital’s patient information library.

“We’ve got an extensive range of specially-produced leaflets covering medical conditions, treatments, procedures, medications and surgery,” says Katie Robins, who manages the library. “All of them are written by our consultants and specialist nurses. They’re designed to be easy to read and to give you the information you need in a straightforward manner.

“When a diagnosis or operation is explained to a patient, the information often doesn’t sink in. The library gives people an opportunity to look things up and read about them in their own time – and it can help patients to think of questions they'd like to ask about their treatment.”

The library is available through this web site, or by visiting the Patient Advice and Liaison Service.
