Are you a nurse or a midwife considering returning to practice, is the idea of returning after a break daunting?  At Addenbrooke’s, we understand the concerns you’ll have and will support you throughout your returning process to nursing at Addenbrooke's.


Aims of the Return to Practice Programme

  • To provide the returnee with a structured programme to rebuild your competence and confidence

  • Update your professional, clinical and theoretical skills

  • Provide support and encouragement during the transition period from returnee to re registered practitioner

  • Develop the full potential of the individual returnee

Programme Includes

  • Academic programme run by Anglia Ruskin University

  • Clinical Skills Programme

  • Monthly support sessions

Frequently asked questions

  • Will I be paid?

At Addenbrooke’s we employ our returnees on a 6 month probationary contract at Band 4. This is automatically converted to a substantive contract at Band 5 on successful completion of the Return to Practice Programme and registration with the NMC.

  • How long is the course?

The programme lasts between 3 and 6 months depending on the individual needs of the returnee.

  • How much does the course cost?

Addenbrookes covers all programme fees except your NMC re registration fees
