Interested in a Health Service Career?

Always wanted to know what it is like to work in a hospital?

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust offers volunteering experience and work experience placements in various departments.

Work Experience

Unfortunately, due to large volume of requests, we can only arrange work experience for people living in Cambridgeshire or those living on the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border.

If you are aged 14-16 years, work experience placements are available in a variety of areas but in administration and clerical type roles only.  If you are aged 16-19 and wish to gain work experience in ward or clinics, then see the ‘Young Person’s Volunteer Scheme’ outlined below.

Young Person’s Volunteer Programme

The Young Person’s Volunteer Programme is aimed at students aged 16-19 years who are considering a career within a healthcare profession, including medicine.
