By foot

Addenbrooke's is a pleasant 30-45 minute walk from the Rail Station and about an hour's walk from the centre of town.

By cycle

Cambridge has some of the best provision of cycle routes and lanes in the UK - and it has very few hills.

Routes

There are cycle tracks leading to the Addenbrooke's site on:

  •  Hills Road (leading to the main roundabout)
  •  Fendon Road (leading to the main roundabout)
  •  Babraham Road (leading to the main roundabout)
  •  Long Road (links to Robinson Way and Hills Road)
  •  Granham's Road, Great Shelford (leading to Robinson Way)

It is also possible to cycle from Trumpington, via the permissive path that goes across the level crossing at the rear of the site, to Robinson Way near the junction with Keith Day Road. The Trumpington path also branches at this point to skirt around the south perimeter of the site and link to Robinson Way near the Oncology Centre.

Parking

There are parking facilities for over 1,300 bicycles on the site. The main sheltered racks are: in front of the main entrance, in front of the rear entrance, and outside Occupational Health. There are about 240 uncovered spaces on the main drag between Outpatients and Accident & Emergency. There are also many other racks around the site.

Cycle repair service
Chris' Bikes visits the hospital on Wednesday mornings - look out for the white van under the bridge, next to the main entrance:
