Colourful characters from the 'Jack and the Beanstalk' pantomime running at the Cambridge Arts Theatre visited the children's wards recently to raise some smiles from the patients.

Mike Fenton-Stevens, who plays Dame Trott, said: "We've come so the children can see what the panto's like and to carry on with Christmas a little longer."

The cast were invited by the Fund for Addenbrooke's. Dave Murphy, the theatre's director, is a keen supporter of Children's Services at the hospital and raised funds for the department recently when he ran the New York Marathon.
