The Trust has published the results of its self-assessment of performance against the Healthcare Commission’s core standards for the period April 2006 to March 2007. The good news is that we are compliant with all of the 24 standards.

This self-assessment is part of the Healthcare Commission’s annual ‘health check’ for hospitals, which replaced the star rating system last year. Along with all other trusts in the country, we judge ourselves against standards which aim to measure what really matters to patients. The assessment also includes views on the quality of our services from the local community, including patient and public representatives.

Over the next three months, the Healthcare Commission will review our assessment against other nationally-held information to make sure that it is an accurate reflection of the hospital’s performance. In September they will publish the final health check, giving the hospital a rating that indicates whether our services are weak, fair, good, or excellent.
