Over & Above Awards 2007

Over & Above award ceromony

The Addenbrooke’s Over & Above Awards 2007 were held today to celebrate and congratulate staff who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in their everyday work. Examples include exceptional work in patient care, being innovative, and staff who deserve recognition for the way they go about their day-to-day jobs.

Over 90 individuals and teams were nominated in six categories: Experience of patients, Patient Care and Safety, Clinical Efficiency and Productivity, Valuing our Staff and Partners, Use of IT Systems, Innovation and Fundraising. There is no ‘one winner’ in these awards. Every individual and team nominated were congratulated and awarded certificates by Dr Mary Archer, Chairman, and Dr Gareth Goodier, Chief Executive, at today’s lunch ceremony held at the Frank Lee Centre.

Speaking at the ceremony Dr Mary Archer, Chairman, said: “It’s a pleasure to see so many individuals and teams winning awards for innovation and excellence this year. I would like to thank everyone for their continued hard work and congratulate all staff who received an Over & Above Award today.”

Dr Gareth Goodier, Chief Executive said: “Addenbrooke’s is a great hospital … great because of the skills and dedication of the staff who work here. Everyday, the energy, commitment, innovation and imagination of our staff contribute to the successful running of Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals. It’s our staff who give true value to our name and strengthen our reputation.”
