Peter Dalton

Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Director of Fundraising. Peter Dalton, currently Director of Fundraising at Austin Health in Melbourne, Australia, is scheduled to start his new role at Addenbrooke’s in June 2008. Austin Health is one of Australia’s leading teaching hospitals, which is world-renowned for its research, and is of a similar size to Addenbrooke’s.

In his current role Peter initiated and is responsible for the Austin Health Total Development fundraising programme for Austin Health’s three medical campuses and six major health research facilities; and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre Appeal, an international fundraising campaign for the $90 million Olivia Newton-John Cancer centre based at Austin Health.

Prior to this Peter was the Chief Executive of his own consultancy, PF Dalton & Associates, which specialised in major gift, capital campaigns and multi-media campaigns. Peter managed signature Australian fundraising campaigns such as the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, The Royal Flying Doctor Service and The Paralympic Games, Sydney 2000.

Keith Day, Chief Executive of ACT said: “I am delighted that Peter Dalton has agreed to join us at Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust. His vast range of experience in fundraising will be a real asset to Addenbrooke’s, particularly as plans for developing the site are slowly becoming a reality. I know that Peter’s appointment will help Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust develop and grow into a modern and dynamic charity, and enable Addenbrooke’s Hospital to remain at the leading-edge of patient care.”

Peter Dalton added: “I am very appreciative of the opportunity to work at ACT, already such a high quality respected brand, supporting great hospitals and associated world class research.

“And I'm really looking forward to settling in beautiful Cambridge, to rolling my sleeves up and working with the fundraising team and ACT volunteers.”
