The Papworth Trust – the organisation promoting equality, choice and independence for disabled people – is forming a new partnership with Addenbrooke's Hospital. The "Support into Employment" agreement will help disabled people find and remain in employment.

Both organisations will work together to identify potential job opportunities and match people to the jobs on offer. Papworth Trust's disabled service users can then apply for suitable positions going through Addenbrooke's usual recruitment procedures.

The Papworth Trust will also support all Addenbrooke's employees who, like 80 per cent of all disabled people in the UK, acquire a disability while of working age.

The "Support into Employment" agreement was formally signed at 1100 hrs on Wednesday 23 January 2008, by Gareth Goodier and Matthew Lester, Director of Operations at the Papworth Trust.

Gareth Goodier, Chief Executive of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: “This partnership is a great opportunity for everyone involved, and we're very pleased to be working with the Papworth Trust. Addenbrooke's is one of the largest employers in the area, and we're expanding every year – so it's important that we continue to recruit talented staff from all parts of the community.”
