Clean your hands – together
we can fight infection.

Remember you can help us fight infection

Like hospitals up and down the country we need to control a number of different hospital infections, not just MRSA and Clostridium difficile. We have a proactive approach to the control of multi-drug resistant organisms to prevent them becoming established in the hospital.

This includes keeping infected patients apart from others, controlling admissions, along with appropriate protective clothing and hand washing procedures for staff and visitors.

Please note:

Clean your hands to prevent the spread of Norovirus (winter vomiting bug)

If you are visiting someone in hospital please make sure you wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before entering and leaving the hospital and after you have been to the loo. The alcohol gel is not effective at removing Norovirus spores from the hands.

If you feel unwell and are suffering from vomiting or diarrhoea please not visit the hospital until you have been free from symptoms for 48 hours.
