About the Patient Information Leaflets

The Trust is committed to producing high quality written patient information. This includes written information about conditions, procedures, treatments, examinations or surgery.

All information written by our clinical staff is reviewed by the Trust Reader Panel (a group of lay people).

The Trust has in place a patient information policy for staff to adhere to which are based on the Department of Health’s Toolkit for Producing Patient Information.

Style guidelines are followed to ensure that the information is understandable before being made accessible to patients.

Please note: You should also receive patient information in a verbal format. Written patient information should be read in conjunction with a consultation with the health professional treating you.

This library of leaflets about 'health' is slowly growing

We aim to publish information about issues we think will be most useful for our patients and carers, and to also provide them in larger print versions.

For information about procedures (including operations) offered at Addenbrooke’s see consent forms.

NICE

Within the library are links to clinical guidelines published by The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE). NICE is an independent organisation who publish national guidance which seeks to promote good health and prevent and treat ill health.
