How to get Involved

Patient and public involvement

Putting patients first is our priority here at Addenbrooke's. Involving them, their carers and the public in all that we do has become an integral part of our culture and everyday thinking.

The NHS Plan established the Government's clear intention that patients should be 'at the heart of the NHS'. It sees public and patient involvement as central to service planning and provision, and a major catalyst for service improvement.

The benefits of involvement are for everyone - better outcomes of health care, a better hospital environment, a more 'open' philosophy on the part of the hospital, increased patient satisfaction, more responsive and cost-effective health care services, and a strengthening of public confidence in the services provided by the Trust

Patients and the public can become involved in what we do through many routes.

You can:

• join us as a member and/or elected governors of the NHS Foundation Trust

• become a volunteer

• join one of our service-specific user and support groups

• feedback information direct to our front-line staff or via our Patient Advice & Liaison Service

• use the Have Your say form on this website to let us know what you think

• find out what is happening via news on this website and other printed publications such as Addenbrooke's Matters or by joining us at events such as our hospital Annual Public Meeting or Open Days.
