...will (i) build on research in monogenic and polygenic obesity to identify biomarkers for use in obesity intervention studies and inform neuro-imaging studies;

(ii) characterise known and novel genetic and metabolic disorders associated with type 2 diabetes with a view to developing new therapies;

(iii) identify and implement novel approaches to improving control of type 1 diabetes in children and adults;

(iv) evaluate novel therapies, including gene therapy, for inherited metabolic diseases;

(v) use psychometric measures to determine how disorders of sexual development influence assessment and treatment of psychological status.
