Led by Professor Andrew Bradley
...will (i) extend expertise in HLA-A and –B, and leukocyte receptor complex genes to improve outcomes in transplantation through better understanding of MHC gene products on transplant outcome; (ii) use in vivo and in vitro studies using human tissue to identify novel targets for therapeutic intervention in vascular injury associated with transplantation; (iii) test novel immunosuppressive agents for their ability to modulate alloimmunity and improve transplant outcome; evaluate techniques developed in the Department of Engineering for evaluation of organ preservation and viability before and after transplantation; develop human embryonic stem cells as a source of cells and tissues for clinical transplantation.
