The Trust is a leading international centre for biomedical research and medical education. A great deal of research is carried out within the hospital – over 1000 projects including 200 clinical trials are run by our staff.
Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with the University of Cambridge has been designated as one of the government's new National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Comprehensive Biomedical Research Centres, and will receive substantial new Research and Development funding. This funding will be used to improve the clinical infrastructure that will allow for research to continue to be translated into new therapies and improved patient care.
