Clinic 6 reception area
The reception desk in Clinic 6

Clinic 6 is on Level 2 (ground floor) of the hospital approached via the main Outpatients entrance.

The clinic was refurbished in 1998. It is brightly painted providing a child-friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The waiting/play area has lots of toys and games; a video playstation is available for older children and 'clown doctors' visit the clinic once weekly.

The clinic is open from 0830 - 1730 hours, Monday to Friday.

Clinic 6 is where almost all of children come for their Outpatient appointment to see one of our many specialist teams.

You will meet many people including doctors, clinic nurses, who weigh and measure you, and specialist nurses for example asthma, growth and diabetes nurses. You can also meet dietitians, physiotherapists and play specialists. Any investigations you may need will be explained to you and your parent(s), for example blood tests, x-rays and scans.

You don't stay overnight in clinic. Although sometimes you go to just one clinic and other times you will go to other parts of the hospital to use special equipment or to see different staff. This will all be explained to you and your parent(s). For example, you will need to go to another department to have an x-ray.
