The Department of Genitourinary Medicine (GUM) is based in Clinic 1A. It offers an outpatient service to both self-referred patients and patients referred by their doctor.

Patients should attend Clinic 1A when they need:

  • Advice and information;

  • Investigation and diagnosis;

  • Treatment;

  • Counselling

for:

  • Genital infections (including sexually transmitted infections);

  • HIV infection;

  • Sexual health problems.

Counselling support is available for patients and their partners as appropriate, as well counselling before and after HIV testing.

Most tests are carried out in the Department. In addition, there is a next-day result HIV antibody testing service every Tuesday morning between 0900 and 1000, with results available on Wednesday.

Clinic 1A is located on Level 4 of outpatients. Follow the signs from the Outpatient Centre, down the Oncology corridor and up the stairs/lift.
