Metabolic Bone Disease Department (and the Bone Density Unit)

The most common metabolic bone diseases are osteoporosis and Paget's disease, and each of the three consultants who have a major interest in these disorders holds a weekly clinic devoted to them. The Bone Density Unit (BDU) is situated on Level 2 in the Department of Nuclear Medicine (although the technique used to assess bone density is based on X-rays).
