What is the Thrombosis Treatment Team? A nurse led service specialising in the assessment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and the outpatient treatment of DVT and pulmonary embolism (PE).

We receive direct GP referrals of patients with suspected DVT and undertake
assessment and investigations to exclude or confirm the diagnosis. We provide
information and advice to patients with a confirmed DVT or PE, facilitate their
discharge and initiate anticoagulant treatment in a nurse led outpatient clinic.
We are a hospital-based education resource for patients, staff and primary
care services. When is the Thrombosis Treatment Team available? DVT assessment : Monday-Friday
Referrals: Patients who are worried about leg symptoms should first
seek advice from their GP, who can refer them directly
to the Thrombosis Treatment Team for DVT assessment. |
