The Oncology Centre

Working in Oncology

The centre provides a service to more than 4000 new patients each year, from East Anglia and beyond. It offers a highly integrated approach to the management of both common and rare cancers.

The provision of services to patients is closely linked with the University of Cambridge Department of Oncology, which ensures that high-quality cancer care is underpinned by research excellence.

The Centre includes the East Anglia Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, which provides a comprehensive service for the treatment of cancer using high-dose therapy with bone marrow and peripheral blood stem-cell support, plus a dedicated outpatient department with day-case facilities for the treatment of patients undergoing transfusion, chemotherapy and plasmapheresis.
