Palliative Care is the holistic, active care of patients and their families who are experiencing a potentially life-limiting illness, both malignant and non-malignant.

We work in conjunction with the patient's medical team and can be involved at any stage in the patient's illness from the time of diagnosis onwards. Our involvement is targeted at patient and family centred care, concentrating on working with the patient to achieve the very best quality of life and to support them and their family.

Specialist Palliative Care provides support in:

  • Symptom Control

  • Psychological support for patients and families/carers

  • End of life care

  • Future care planning

  • Advice and support for healthcare professionals caring for patients with a life-limiting illness
