Physiotherapy services for children with cystic fibrosis

The Physiotherapy Department at Addenbrooke's works as part of a multidisciplinary team that delivers full or shared care to children in the Eastern Region who have cystic fibrosis. The service is based in the Children's Services outpatient department. The services that are provided for children and their parents, carers, teachers and other professionals include:

• Assessment and development of treatment programme for patients who have cystic fibrosis
  
  
• Monitoring of patients who have cystic fibrosis including home and school visits as necessary
  
  
• Education programmes about cystic fibrosis
  
  
• Annual review assessment s incorporation chest posture and exercise tolerance testing for all patients who have cystic fibrosis

Specialist physiotherapy services for adults who have cystic fibrosis are available at Papworth Hospital.
