On your arrival:

When you arrive, please report to ward reception and you will then be shown to your bed, chair or the waiting area.

We hope your stay will be comfortable. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions. If you or your relative wish to speak to your consultant or other medical staff, please ask for an appointment to be made.

 

Food and drink:

Meal times:

  • breakfast is at 0800 hours,

  • lunch at 1200 hours,

  • dinner at 1700 hours.


If a meal is missed please let a member of staff know.

Tea rounds are at 1000 and 1500 hours and also with the meals. When you arrive, we will ask you if you have any special requirements.

 

Ward facilities:

Showers are available on the ward.

Toilets: Please ask the ward staff for the nearest visitors’ toilet.

The nearest vending machine for Patientline cards is near the concourse, outside wards C and D, level two.

 

Other information

Your belongings and valuables: You will have only a small bedside locker to store your personal belongings, so please bring only essential items with you to hospital. We can take care of small amounts of money in the hospital safe but, if possible, please ask visitors to take care of any valuables for you.

Please call after 0800 hours, the changeover of nursing staff will be complete by this time.
