Welcome to Addenbrooke's Arts Addenbrooke’s Arts enhances the hospital environment for patients, visitors and staff, by lifting the spirit and bringing pleasure through an innovative, stimulating and engaging arts programme including visual and performance arts.
Our music and poetry projects are generously funded by the Arts Council, England. If you are an artist, poet, musician or performer and would like to get involved, please contact the Art Curator at the address below.
Latest Events Addenbrooke’s Arts and the hospital archives are presenting several events as part of Cambridge University’s Festival of Ideas in October.
Hilary Ritchie is giving a talk on the history of Addenbrooke’s on 23rd October at 2pm in the David Dunn Room. Damian Hebron is giving a talk about the role of the arts in healthcare and discussing the impact of art at Addenbrooke’s on 23rd October at 2pm in the David Dunn Room. Damian Hebron and Lesley Bermingham are leading tours of the hospital’s arts collection on 23rd October from 5.30pm. On 24th October, artist Kim Whittingham will give a talk about her work and her exhibition in the gallery on the Rosie corridor at 1pm again in the David Dunn room. Kim Whittingham30 September - 18 November Watercolour artist, Kim Whittingham, has developed an unusual fish-eye view of East Anglian architecture, employing delicate and vibrant colours in her work. Kim’s new series of work include some of Cambridge’s well known landmarks and buildings and will feature in Cambridge’s Festival of Ideas – details above. Kim’s work can been seen at our gallery in the corridor between the Concourse and Rosie Wards. Curwen Print Studio'sWe are delighted to be exhibiting some of Curwen Print Studio's distinguished artists. As part of the studio's 50th anniversary celebratory year, a variety of events have been planned across the country, including a show at Tate Britain. The Curwen Studio is a unique organisation in fine art printing for artists/photographers and has an outstanding international reputation.
Original limited edition prints will be on show and for sale from 12 August to 30 September at our gallery in the corridor between the Concourse and Rosie Wards All the work is for sale and 25% commission goes towards the arts programme.
