A Half Day Course
Aims:

To develop awareness and sensitivity to the multi-faith
and multi-cultural aspects that are part of the
healthcare setting.

To sketch out some of the aspects of the various
faith communities that impact today.

To challenge the individual’s own perceptions
on the need for respecting the privacy, dignity,
religious and cultural beliefs of others.
Topics covered:

Current NHS requirements/documentation.

Respect for dignity and privacy—identifying
issues in our work place and in our own experience.

Defining spiritual and religious needs.
-
How we monitor them.
-
Major faith communities in the UK.
-
Literature on faith groups.
-
Summaries on groups and their artefacts.

Areas of inequality and our responses.
