Patientline at Addenbrooke's

Patientline was installed at Addenbrooke's in 1998, specifically to provide bedside TV, radio and telephone systems for use by patients. This unique service is provided at no cost to the National Health Service (NHS). The system offers patients the opportunity to watch what they want, when they want, from a variety of digital TV channels supplied by ONdigital.

Patientline in the UK

The Patientline system has in excess of one-million users nationwide each year. Patientline is also endorsed by the Patients' Association, recognising the benefits that communication and entertainment bring to patients. Patientline was awarded Millennium Product status by the Design Council of Great Britain in 1999, a recognition of innovation and quality.

We have recently started introducing new services, including bedside games and pay-per-view movies (both already running) and there are many more to come. Integrated customer-satisfaction surveys and talking books are also on the way very soon.
