The League was founded in 1948 by Miss Lucy Ottley, the Matron at that time, for the purpose of developing and strengthening the honourable tradition of the Training School at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and furthering the bond of friendship between nurses. At the same time as trying to maintain the original aims, the League tries to keep abreast of changing times and to continue to be a lively, friendly and caring association. More recently the League has encouraged links with HSHS and broadened its membership to include their students and Health Care Assistants level 3 NVQ. On this part of the website:
