What are my rights as a patient?

Patients are entitled to a second occupational therapy opinion, after agreement with your therapist.

Patients can have access to their medical records, according to Addenbrooke's Hospital's policy (further information).

All patient information will remain confidential and, where appropriate, will be covered by the Data Protection Act (further information).

Addenbrooke's is a major teaching hospital, therefore, patients might be treated by student occupational therapists under the supervision of qualified staff. Patients have the right to request not to be seen by a student (students wear a plain white tunic with green trousers and will introduce themselves as students in training).
