The patient rights that we recognise in the Occupational Therapy Department at Addenbrooke's include:

  • Patients are entitled to a second occupational therapy opinion, after agreement with your therapist.

  • Patients can have access to their medical records, according to Addenbrooke's Hospital's policy (further information).

  • All patient information will remain confidential and, where appropriate, will be covered by the Data Protection Act (further information).

  • Addenbrooke's is a major teaching hospital, therefore, patients might be treated by student occupational therapists under the supervision of qualified staff. Patients have the right to request not to be seen by a student (students wear a plain white tunic with green trousers and will introduce themselves as students in training).
