Lady Mary Ward is situated on Level 2 of the Rosie Hospital. Follow the link corridor from the main concourse in Addenbrooke's, and Lady Mary Ward is on the left-hand side as you enter the Rosie Hospital.

Lady Mary is a mixed antenatal and postnatal ward; we aim to give continuity of care to mothers and their babies. There are 43 beds, and we can also have up to 26 babies (when we are full).

Antenatal services

During the antenatal period, we aim to advise, support and care for women and their partners throughout problematic pregnancies; this usually includes a period of assessment and observation. These women will have one of the consultants allocated to Lady Mary Ward as their lead professional.

Postnatal services

Postnatally, we offer support to new parents, which includes learning to care for the newborn baby. We offer advice and observation of the normal changes that happen to mothers and babies following delivery, and we can refer to other professionals if there is any significant deviation from the normal. We will also ensure that mothers and their partners know how to obtain help and support once they are at home.

Staffing

We have a core team of ward clerks, health care assistants, auxiliaries and ward assistants. The midwives and ward managers rotate throughout the service, to enable professional development. We also have two volunteer breast feeding advisors, who visit the ward weekly.
