Ward C3

Where is the ward?

Ward C3 is on Level 3 (the second floor) of the Hospital. From the main concourse, take the stairs or lift up one floor, turn left and then left again.

Who stays with us?

Ward C3 cares for children aged from birth to three years old who are having surgical or medical treatment, and for those aged up to 16 years who are having ear, nose and throat surgery/medical care.

Who can visit and when?

Ward C3 has open visiting for family and friends.

What facilities does the ward have?

The ward was refurbished in 2000 and is very attractive and child-friendly. We have a playroom (see above) but also good facilities for parents including a coffee room and a sleeping area next to each child's bed.

Milk kitchen

The milk kitchen for Children's Services is based on Ward C3, where specialist feeds prescribed by the dieticians can be prepared for children who have specific dietary needs.

Our team

You will meet a number of our Children's Services staff including paediatric surgeons and medical doctors, physiotherapists, dieticians, nurses, play specialists and nursery nurses.

Our ward clerk and ward assistants ensure the smooth running of the ward.

Our hospital play specialists can prepare, distract and play with children - they are supported by nursery nurses, who also assist with the basic care of babies and small chidren.
